PneumatiCoat Technologies (Forge Nano) was awarded a Phase I SBIR grant from the Department of Energy to research ALD enabled coatings for ceramic capacitor applications. There are a number of capacitor components that benefit from advanced coatings. The potential benefits could help improve high temperature performance, reduce processing costs, and improve reliability. PCT (Forge Nano) will be investigating coatings on several capacitor components and optimizing the coating properties to maximize performance improvements. This project strengthens a growing relationship between PCT (Forge Nano) and Penn State University, as well as with the NSF Center for Dielectrics and Piezoelectrics, a joint collaboration between NC State and Penn State.
